What an outstanding game to finish off the year. After being soundly beaten by this side the first time we played them, we knew it was going to be a tough game.
Although we had most of the play throughout the game we didn't take advantage of it and allowed them too much space on the rebound and they punished us and headed into 3 quarter time with a 27 point lead.
At the huddle I asked the boys to dig deep and put in a massive effort to see out the year and they did just that.
We outscored the opposition 29 points to 1 in the final term to snatch a thrilling 1 point win.
Clearly the highlight of the season and it was great to see the boys reaction after being rewarded for their efforts.
Individually & collectivelly everyone has improved massively however there is still a lot of room for improvement in all aspects of the game.
It has been an absolute pleasure coaching you guys this season and I look forward to next year.
Enjoy the break lads, you deserve it.

Another big learning curve for the boys today.
I thought we controlled the play for most of the day but again didn't convert in front of goal, which ended up costing us.
The basics let us down today, handballs not hitting targets, not sticking our tackles, wrong decisions by foot and most of all, the lack of talk out on the ground. We had outnumbered our opponents for most of the day yet due to the lack of talk, ended up losing those contests.
Hopefully now, the boys understand that a simple thing such as talking can have a big impact on the outcome of the game.
Plenty of things to work on leading into the last game of the season.
    Good job fellas.

A pleasing response from the boys today after a dissappointing game last week.
Although it was a sluggish start, the 2nd quarter was outstanding with our midfield on top.
The 3rd quarter was also good however we didn't convert our dominance on the scoreboard with a heap of missed shots on goal.
We switched off in the last quarter for some reason and let them dictate the play which was in their forward half for most of the quarter.
Our aim next week will be to play consistant footy over 4 quarters.
    Well done boys.

A really good lesson today about how important the basics of football are and how much of an impact they have on a game.
We struggled to follow instructions on manning up and were left pretty much chasing all day.
Ability aside, it was disappointing to see some boys not giving 100% & those boys need to realise by doing that, they are not only letting themselves down but also letting their teammates down.
We will get back on the track on Thursday and work hard on some things and get ready to have another crack on Sunday against Stirling.

A great game of football from the boys today. They are really starting to understand the game more and understanding how important the little things such as shepharding are in a game of footy.
Super proud of the boys discipline today as there were quite a few late tackles & frustration creeping in from the ooposition and the boys just kept to the task at hand.
The team handball is still a work in progress and I would like to see that happening every week as common practice.
A couple of great goals by Liam Ferreira & Ollie Kogiopolous made even more memorable by them being in the middle of the huddle during the team song whilst getting soaked by all the other lads.
Well done on another team effort boys.

A really hard and tough game of contested footy today against the other Kingsley side who played a great game of football. Our use of the handball out of the pack wasn't as good as last week which showed in a much more congested game.
A focus at training this week will be around our tackling as we gave away far too many free kicks as a result of poor tackling.
Well done boys on a game played in the right spirit.

Another great game today from the boys.
They are really starting to understand the game a lot better and their use of the handball today was outstanding. As a result of this it was by far the most open running game we have played all year.
The pressure around the contest and on the ball carrier was on from the first bounce and continued throughout the whole game.
It is great to see the smile on the boys faces when they belt out the club song after a great win.
Well done lads, see you all at training.

After a couple of disappointing weeks, the boys really came out switched on & ready to play from the first bounce.
Our pressure was first rate all day and the most pleasing aspect of the game was our quick handballs out to teammates in space to open up the game.
It is really encouraging to see that what we practise at training is showing in the games.
Great job today boys and enjoy the break.

Todays game was a real tight contest from the start. Both teams had control of the game for certain periods without scoring due to the defence standing up.
The last quarter was a real tight tussle with Sorrento kicking a goal with 30 seconds left to secure a 3 point win.
Although the lads were dissappointed with the outcome they should all hold their heads up high given the effort they put in.
I thought it was our best all over "team" effort for the season so far which is pleasing to see.

Pretty tough day at the office for the boys against a very good Kingsway side who had a couple of exceptional players.
Manning up still seems to be an issue with our group as a whole so that is something we will need to continually work on along with goal kicking practise.
The game also highlighted the need to get some greater output throughout the team rather than relying on the same 5-6 players week in week out.
On a positive note, I was really proud of the boys to fight the game out right to the end.

Today was a "Kingsley derby" against a very determined Lions side who started extremely well and were in control for the first quarter.
At quarter time the instructions were to be first at the ball & to man up better and I think the boys worked really hard in these areas for the remainder of the game. It was a really competitive game played in great spirit.
Its a work in progress in trying to keep the boys in their zones and trying to avoid all the congestion around the ball so we will keep working on that at training.
We head into the bye round having had a really good first 5 weeks of the season with some really big imrovements from the boys and hope to carry this throughout the rest of the year.
    Enjoy the week off lads.

After a disappointing game last week the boys came out firing today.
We really focused on manning up & sticking to our zone this week at training as that was the part of the game that let us down last week and it showed with todays tackling pressure from everyone.
It is really pleasing to see that what we focus on at training is being delivered in the games on Sundays.
We are looking forward to next weeks "derby" against the other Kingsley side in what will be another tough game for us. Great team effort today boys.

We came up against a Sorrento side today who were very well drilled with great skills.
It was a really close contest all day and although we didn't get the win, the boys fought hard and we certainly had our opportunities.
The lesson we learnt from today is the importance of manning up. Our boys got sucked into the play too often and when the ball came out there were Sorrento players everywhere and we just got opened up.
Plenty of things to work on at training this week in preparation for next weeks game.
    Good effort again today boys.

In contrast to last week, today's game was a tight & tough contest all day. Both teams attack on the footy and tackling pressure was sensational.
Our defence really stood up when the pressure was on and our midfield really stuck to their instructions & didn't get sucked into where the ball was.
They are really starting to gel together as a team after the inclusion of 5 x new boys and the belief in themselves and their team mates is evident.
    Great job again today boys.

Outstanding effort to start the season.
In what was a really physical game first up I thought the boys attack on the footy and tackling pressure was awesome.
We had an emphasis on sticking to our zones to reduce the congestion around the footy and we did that really well.
The most pleasing aspect however was the team work. We have 6 new players to the team and they all look like they are settling in great.
The highlight of the day was the boys getting together (without prompting) to sing the club song after the game.
Well done boys, great start to the season.
