The boys took on Carine for the last game of the season away. Intensity was high with right from the start with some great tackling pressure. They played a good brand of footy however leaving the opposition to run loose at times proved costly ending up in turnovers. This is something we continue to work on. Alot of positives to takeaway from today with the team working well together and talking it up all over the ground. Kicking and hand balling skills have continued to improve throughout the season and even though we missed out on the chockies the boys can hold their head up high finishing up a great season. Well Done boys!!

This week had the last derby at home where we again mixed up the teams. The contest was even with some great skills on display. Both teams clicked really well with great ball movement and alot of unselfish play sharing the ball around. Contests at the ball were impressive and tackling pressure was another highlight. The later part of the season has really seen the boys develop and gel together with a good focus on getting hold of the footy. Well done boys

Today was a focus on having a bit of fun and working on skills playing against Balga. Evening up the teams was the order of day with Balga only having 9 players. The boys putting on the opposition jumpers were not deterred displaying some good team work and kicking some great goals. Our boys again played well with good ball movement all over the ground. Maintaining positions at times was difficult in defence with alot of the play at the other end but they managed it well. The mid field worked well with good ruck taps to players and clearance out of the middle and with less players on the ground due to even up kept the forward line open transitioning into some good goals. Well done again to the boys as they continue to grow each week both individually and as a team.

What another great game of football with plenty of teamwork on display. This week we took on Warwick Greenwood Red at home who pounced us last time earlier this year dominating at their home ground. The first quarter saw the boys a bit nervous with numbers waiting in the back-line for the ball instead of taking the game on. After our quarter time talk the boys responded and their confidence lifted applying immediate pressure and attack at the footy from the first bounce. Ball movement and tap downs in the middle showed good intent and ball movement most times out of the back line was exceptional. Tackling pressure was outstanding closing down some key players. The boys were really enjoying themselves putting on show and a don't give up attitude. Key areas to work on is our defense as there were times opposition players were left finding the ball with little contest. Skill level was impressive with accurate kicking and hand-balling to team mates. Very proud of the boys as they are really developing their skills well and working as a team.

Message from the start was attack the footy, put on plenty of pressure, push back off the mark and play unselfish footy. Well, the boys did exactly that - from the first bounce down the boys went in hard winning the ball with some great tackling on display. Looking for each other and having the confidence in their mates to carry the footy was clear all over the ground with some good hand balling and kicking to each other. Not giving up and following up after themselves was outstanding. The midfield worked well by tapping to advantage to a mate and then getting the ball inside our attacking zone. I would like to thank those boys who put on an opposition guernsey to even up the game who still gave it a good go against their mates. The boys did themselves and the club proud and it was great to hear the song again being sung with passion. Well done!

What another exciting game from the boys. They worked really well together as a team looking for each other while providing good leads and ball skills. Tacking pressure was again good today resulting in some important turnovers at the right time of the game. Mates looking mates was another highlight seeing a player go and pick up his mate off the ground after being knocked down off the play. Defensively as a team we still have some work to do with manning up on players but our pressure and intent for the ball was outstanding. The boys should really be proud of themselves as they are gelling well together as a team. Went into the last quarter down asking the boys to really lift and not to give up. They listened and went onto play a high pressure and intense quarter. Cant go past mentioning a game deciding tackle on an opponent which caused a turnover. The ball was passed off quick to a lead at the top of the square resulting in a goal in the last 10 seconds of the game. Everyone went nuts. The club song was again sung after the game from the boys filled with plenty of emotion. Well done boys, great game!

First game back after school holidays and the boys seemed refreshed and ready to go. Great display of pressure and tackling saw the boys rewarded for effort and paid a free kicks building their confidence. Attack at the ball was intense with 2nd and 3rd attempts to maintain possession was outstanding. Vision for each other was good and at times may have overused the ball the intent to work together as a team was there. Players leaving opponents to spoil what would have been an uncontested mark was a real highlight and the boys running hard at the footy with confidence and taking the game on was another. The list goes on. The boys should be very proud of themselves as we couldn't have asked for more. Well Done!

Today the boys took on Carine at home with conditions perfect for footy. From the first bounce down i knew they turned up to play with some good pressure applied to the opposition around the ball and contests. Lowering of the eyes and good ball use instead of going the big bombs to nowhere worked well with some good transitions from one end to the other. Not getting sucked into the play was a focus in the second half with the boys holding positions well making way for the easy possession out of the contests. An extra couple of highlights was an attempted torpedo and a couple hangers which almost paid off. Really proud of the boys this week as we all go into the school holidays with a couple of well earned weeks off.

This week had our Kingsley Tigers take on the Kingsley Cats in our first derby for the year. on Kingsley South Oval. The game got under way with divided teams but not after some confusion about how it was required to be played out. The sun was shining with perfect conditions for footy and with a near capacity crowd in attendance were fortunate enough to witness a good array ball skills, pressure and some solid encouraging team work. The changing around of teams showed no signs of disappointment from the boys either who had no issue with taking on their normal week to week team mates and having some fun along the way. On field encouragement is always great to see hearing 'well done' and seeing pats on the back building our culture at the KJFC. Well done to everyone on the day!!

First time today had us assist the opposing team with 4 players rotated each quarter. It was taken on very well which was highlighted on the field so well done to those boys for helping out. Overall a good team effort today with the working well to find each other. Some good handballs off to team mates and position kicking as well instead of the long bombs into space. Intensity at the ball was good at times with some good tackles laid on the opposition. Some run out of the back line was great to watch with players gather possession, while others ran hard to provide options further down which transitioned into a couple of goals. There are always things to take away from a game, which we have. After all the boys had fun and sung the club song with pride so win win....

Tough game in the wet blustery conditions. Warwick were hard at the ball all day which reflected in our overall result. Some highlights were the boys working the ball well to each other with some good hand balling and kicking on display. Focus for training this week will be on our tackling and winning possession in the contests.

The boys had a cracker of a game putting into practice what they worked hard on during the week at training. Going hard at the ball, tackling and providing good run. Confidence was up and it was really to great to see them enjoying themselves. Couldn't have asked for more as a coach and it was pleasing the boys all got on board and finish off singing the club song. Well Done.

A good team effort today with the boys looking for each other when they had possession. Some improvement from last week around manning up but the opposition still managed a lot of easy possessions at the contest. Positive signs of ball movement out of the back line finding each other which led to an exciting goal. Tackling and making a contest at the ball will be a focus at this weeks training to try and get the boys confidence up. The ground didn't provide much bounce and was greasy which had an effect on contested overhead marking. There were some really good drop punt passing hitting players on the chest.

The boys' endeavour today was great as we went into the game with a focus on applying pressure and getting our heads over the ball to maintain possession. This was challenging at times as weather conditions weren't favourable with strong winds and light rain making clean possession difficult. Our modified tackling technique was also something we had been working on and that was clearly displayed on the oval today with players being rewarded for effort. A couple of things to focus on for next game are players maintaining positions as this caused for some costly turnovers with the opposition being free and able to run and some over ball use at times. Throughout the whole game they played well under pressure as a team looking for each other and giving encouragement.
