The team learnt a valuable lesson today. If you don't turn up ready to play you get blown off the field in the first quarter. 8 unanswered goals before we even looked ready....
What was pleasing was the way we went about the football game after half time. Man on Man, contest by contest and going the ball not the man. Looked like a total different team.

    Gut wrenching loss.
First game back from the break facing the Top/undefeated team and we let the lead slip late in the 4th Quarter, it hurts.
No best players today was a full team effort..

Firstly a big thank you to the Year 6 boys that come down and help out, Henry, Tom, Riley and Ben. A bright future for all of them.
This is the second time this season we have played Kingsway Teal. So it was a really good measure on how we have improved - 6 goal better effort. Had we been able to convert our dominance in the first and third quarters it could have been a lot closer.
Congratulations to Reuben on his 50 game milestone. Enjoy the break we have a big July ahead of us.

The teams physical pressure and effort was a highlight for 3 quarters this week. Once again it was just the 1 quarter where the opposition got a run on and the team gave up thinking its all to hard. After half time the attitude and commitment to the cause was a lot better. We started to see some really good signs and the fact we were able to run out the game a lot better this week means that the "Ryan Blitz" is working on the training track. We face Kingsway Teal this week who beat us by 72 points last time we played - so the challenge is there.

Great signs from the team today. The work on the training track is starting to come through on game day. Joey was outstanding today shifting to Centre Half back and displaying his ability to take strong marks and contest for the ball on the ground. Was one of only a handful of players that could stand strong and say they beat their opponent today.

Was always going to be a hard day at the office up against the top team. Having said that we did led for about 5 minutes in the first quarter and it wasn't until the 3rd quarter when we let them kick 6 goals that ti really got out of hand.
To the boys credit they gave it 100% for the other 3 quarters, stuck to our structure and kept working together as a team. A lot of lessons learnt from this game.

A very Wet and stormy game tonight. Boys took a while to settle and focus. They had a lead all night and it wasn't until the 3rd quarter when they kicked 2 goals that they steadied.
It was not pretty but we will take the win, our first for the year.

A very close game. Hear breaking for the team as we had the lead for 99% of the game. We will be better for the close lose than a close win.

Pretty hard day at the office to say the least. Our 1st and 3rd quarters where workman like, however the 2nd & 4th will probably not make the high light reel at the end of the season. The team continues to listen and learn and that is pleasing. There isn’t a magic wand that will turn us into superstars overnight, however if we continue to train like we did last week, working on our craft the results will come.

There are a lot of positives to take our of todays game. It was a good measure of where the team is at and highlighted a lot of areas that require improvement.
One of the biggest positive out of today was the boys attitude and body language - for the time they turned up to get ready to the final siren.
    Looking forward to round 2.
