A great way to finish the season. We played with passion and focus right up until the final siren even though we had nothing to gain or lose. Credit goes to the players today who continued to focus on the team goals and try to improve their game. Alex Sedlarczuk and Jack Spencer lead from the front with a great start to the game, setting the tone for the entire encounter. Lachlan Morris and Sam Spyvee found the ball easily and used it well. Ayden Nolan, Rueban Maishman and Beau Bennison were all deadly in front of goals. Kylan Gillmore, Harrison Burt and Cameron Carr was also solid contributors all game. Thank you to the players who played for the Quinns team at different times during the game.
    Well done.

The team were faced with a tough test today against the top of the table Quinn's Lightning with a win required to keep a finals position alive. A great start by the boys gave us a quarter time lead. Numerous good passages of play rebounding off half back with Kylan Gillmore and Jack Prideaux providing plenty of drive, followed up by good use of foot skills to hit targets up the ground. Our midfield, led by Trent Foote in the ruck and Alex Sedlarczuk (our best player) provided many forward opportunties which resulted in a couple of goals. However the margin could have been better with a couple of missed opportunities close to goal costing us.
The opposition started the 2nd term well and outscored us by a few goals as the warm conditions and a number of injury concerns to Harrison Burt, Kaleb Duncan, Jack Spencer and Sam Bartlett kept the interchange rotations busy and unsettled some of our matchups. Sam Spyvee, Cameron Carr, Ben Chaseling and Sam Holmes had plenty of touches but our forward entries were rushed which limited our impact to capitalize on the opportunities and many attacking thrusts were repelled as we weren't able to hit our forward targets.
The 3rd quarter followed a similar path to the 2nd quarter with the opposition converting there forward opportunities. A commanding 3/4 time lead left the team with a big challenge and at the break the coaches asked the boys to dig deep and win the final term and be proud of their efforts.
A few late tackles got the boys fired up and it was great to see the boys supporting their team mates as it got a little willing. The boys responded by kicking a number of goals and restricting the top team to a single goal in the final quarter.
Although the scoreboard showed a victory to the opposition, the team won the opening and final quarters. With similar forward entries, the area that impacted us was our quality of entries and the ability to finish off the good work on the scoreboard.
A very encouraging performance by the team against good opposition. Let's work hard at training this week and finish off the season with a big performance.
    Well done.

A solid game from the boys today but not quite good enough to get the win. We have a few players continuing to improve with Cody Voss and Quinn Elliot taking there game to a new level today. We also have a few players back from long term injury with Kylan Gillmore, Adrian Allia and Keeton Murphy all contributing. Samuel Holmes was our best today with his run and carry and highlight. Cameron Carr, Harrison Burt and Ayden Nolan were at their best attacking the ball all game. Alex Sedlarczuk and Jack Prideaux played well in defence in the absence of two of our regular backs. A great effort from all Kingsley players but we just couldn’t get over the line against a better team today. They clearly have not forgotten that we knocked them out of the finals last year.

What a heart stopper. A super effort today from all the players beating one of the best teams in our division. There was much improvement from last week with players attacking the ball, taking clean possession and making good decisions with it. Cody Voss had a great game playing the entire game in a defensive midfield role. Harrison Burt and Cameron Carr were at their best gaining lots of metres with their run and long kicking. Lachlan Morris and Kylan Gillmore fought hard for the ball and showed just how good at hitting targets they are, never giving up the ball. The challenge is to keep up this level next week as we play another top team. Well done.

No goals for either team in the first quarter set up a very tight and hard fought game. Marist found it easier to sore from their forward entires and came out on top at the final siren. Cameron Carr, Alex Sedlarczuk, Ben Chaseling and Harrison Burt were our best players and worked hard all game. Cody Voss did very well against one of the best players in the competition and Lachlan Morris and James Clarke rebounded the ball well out of defence. This result sets up a tight finish to the season with every game counting if we are to play in the finals.

A great first half set us up for a comfortable win today with our defensive pressure the highlight. Our opposition hardly had a chance to score with the ball coming into our back line under pressure and our backs tackling and spoiling well and rebounding the ball effectively. Our forwards were given a few chances to score and Sam Bartlett and Ayden Nolan took advance, putting the cats well in front at the main break. Our midfield was strong all game with Ben Chaseling leading the way with his best on ground performance. Lachlan Morris played one of his best games for the year with his efficiency the key to his excellent game. Cameron Carr and Jack Spencer also had great games working hard all around the ground. A big step for us today. Now to next week and another important game against another team looking to take our spot in the top four.

A great team performance today even though we were a bit sluggish coming off the school holidays. Jack Prideaux and Alex Sedlarczuk were fantastic in defence and rebounded the ball back into attack continuously throughout the game. Cameron Carr, Ayden Nolan and Reuben Maishman gave repeated efforts and Dan Buis provided plenty of run. We had lots of opportunities with the ball and did not make the most of it so some work on retaining possession will be the focus during the week.

A huge turnaround from last week with a much improved game by all. Our hard work at training paid off this weekend with smooth transition of the ball from defence into attack, great attack of the footy and much better passing by hand and foot. Cameron Carr was a star in the midfield, helped by Ben Chaseling, Jack Prideaux and Lachlan Morris. Trent Foote played his best game for the year being dominant in the air all around the ground. Ayden Nolan also had a fantastic all round game with pin point passes and plenty of goals. The challenge now is to back it up in our next game.

A much better team performance this week even though we had less numbers. Our third quarter was our best highlighted by our attack at the ball, clean pick ups and hitting targets. We need to be able to do this over the entire game. Quinn Elliot was our best with his contests in the forward line. Ben Chaseling also played well returning from injury and Jacob Lockhart played his best game for the year. I feel that our next win is just around the corner.

A close finish for the second week in a row, something we are not use to. We fought hard all game but couldn’t hang on getting over run in the last quarter by a team that wanted it more. Some great rebounding by the backs and midfielders worked hard all game. Ayden was again deadly in front of goals. Best players were Jack Prideaux, Beau Bennison, Harrison Burt and Ayden Nolan.

A great team effort today, playing against a more even team for the first time in several weeks. Great tackling and attack on the football throughout the game. Harrison Burt was best player for his marking and long kicking out of defence. Cameron Carr second best for his attack on the ball and rarely losing a contest. Other best players were Rueben Maishman, Ayden Nolan and Lachlan Morris. We need to work on our goal kicking and marking ready for our game against Kingsway on Sunday.

Another tough week for the boys playing against bigger stronger opposition. Some good signs throughout, particularly with the way we exited the defensive 50m area and our attack on the ball once it was on the ground. We still need to work on our marking and delivery when we have clear possession. Best players were Jack Spencer, Sam Bartlett and Jack Prideaux. A few injuries are not helping so it is important we look after ourselves and prepare the best we can for our next game.

A tough day out there today. We were up against a very good team and struggled to complete early. A promising third quarter led to a better second half but we still couldn’t stop the opposition from scoring. Best Players were Ben Chaseling, Tom Spencer, Jack Spencer and Cameron Carr. A few things to work on at training this week before taking on a new challenge against Swanbourne on Sunday.

What a great start to the season. A close first half brought out the best in our players. We were hard at the football, cleared the ball by hand from the contests and punched to defend. The second half was a little easier, due in part to the fact the opposition did not have any interchange. Some big marking up forward and some run down tackles in defence were a highlight. Samuel Holmes was named best on ground due to his excellent reading of the play and ball use. A great start for the players considering it was the first time they had played together. Another challenge awaits next week.
